For almost 10 years, a French-Cambodian team have been digging in Laang Spean cave in Battambang’s Ratanak Mondol district, making discoveries which provide evidence of the earliest known civilizations in Cambodia.

With its wide, open mouth and high ceilings, Laang Spean covers about 1,200 square metres and is the biggest of 13 caves on Phnom Teak Treng.
